Bangka Urban Village Opens Cheap Grocery Market for Residents

The Bangka Urban Village Office, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta which opened a cheap grocery market in its courtyard, received a positive response from residents.

Hopefully, this kind of market will become a regular agenda

As stated by one of the residents from RT 12/01 Bangka Urban Village, Alif (45). He appreciated the market that sold affordable basic needs compared to modern market prices.

"The price is cheaper. Hopefully, this kind of market will become a regular agenda, especially before fasting and Idul Fitri," he expressed, Friday (1/3).

Jakarta Provincial Government Provides Cheap Market to Suppress Inflation

Bangka Urban Village Head, Firdaus Aulawy Rois explained the cheap market was realized in cooperation with Fiod Station Tjipinang Jaya.

Some of the commodities sold were chili, rice, onions, cooking oil, sugar, wheat flour, and eggs. All of them were priced below the modern market or supermarket price.

"Residents are very enthusiastic, as the price is cheaper and there are discounts too," he explained.

He hoped that it could anticipate price fluctuations for basic needs in the market.

"With this market, hope the residents' nutritional needs will also be met," he stated.
